Prana. Vital Energy. Life Force.
Not forcing life, but allowing the force of life to move through you.
All traditions of spiritual wisdom hold the understanding of this energy, its importance, and how we can enhance it.
It has many names: Qi, Ki, Shakti, Anima, Mana… I recently practiced a guided meditation from the ram Dass Archive, in which he described it as Divine Mist.
Prana is literally the breath of life, the animating force in all things. Living in the body. Flowing in the trees. Radiating in the sunshine.
Yoga practice enhances our capacity for this vital life force energy. By clearing chakras, the flow of Prana not only flows easier, but actually expands. As we welcome more life force energy, our responsibility to still the mind and tame the ego also grows.
These practices are powerful. Pranayama, in particular, literally means expansion of awareness. Not breath-work, but a tool you never have to acquire that can melt away the barriers we have built around Soul, Purusa. The only work to be done is to just be open, to be malleable, and practice receiving divine love, divine healing, divine purpose.
Modern Western practice will amplify your energy, but it wont necessarily dissolve the ego. Ego is defined in the Sutras as mistaking the power of seeing and the nature of seeing to be the same thing… If we remove the understanding that our energy is breathed into us by God, we can falsely give power to control, to self- righteousness, and gain over others around us.
And it’s very easy to tell when one is purifying the ego, but not moving out of it. Most are incredibly self assured, adamant, and not open to interpretation of others or new knowledge. They think they know it all, not that they are connected to it all, moving as a small piece of the whole.
We don’t have to activate Prana, we simply must get our minds out of its way. A blocked chakra is typically emotions, negative or otherwise, that we are holding on to… that we think make up our unique narrative. In an attempt to create uniqueness, we hinder what truly makes it beautiful to have a human experience- the consciousness underneath.
Starting over… terrifying… or freeing?
Prana is Jesus. It is Christ Consciousness. It is all of the Divine intelligence that has ever walked the earth or danced above in the heavens. It’s impacts are only limited by what we are willing to receive… by what we are willing to allow to impact us.
My life now is filled with this divine purpose. To help other clear their blockages and experience Prana. To experience themselves as Prana and dissolve the rest.
Can you take the leap into surrender to strip away all that is covering your soul? Can you breathe out of the mind and into the heart? Can you breath in this divine light of Prana and exhale it out to others?
Namaste.
